The building pictured is the new welding shop for the school. We spent from 10am-12pm drilling holes in the shipping container (when they pass their usefulness they sell them. Getting supplies isn't easy in the village so you use what you can. Half of the welding shop is made out of these shipping containers. When it is through you wont be able to tell though. They are pretty sturdy.). It took from 1pm-4pmish to put up the insulation (very important), two by two's, and siding. Were about half way done.

This one goes out to the one I love...
That should say, "These posts go out to the one's I love...". I just got internet in my appt this week (thanks Dad) so these pics are from the last few weeks. I will now be able to put them up quicker.
Field Trip
Here are a few more pics of town. Today we took the kids on a 'field-trip'. AKA, we loaded up the 4wheelers with kids and drove to the point. Then we crossed the water on a boat (ask me about this story). We then walked about 1/2 a mile to Teller. Teller High school (another school in our district, which has a road to Nome) was holding a career fair. We then put the following in reverse and made it back home. These are the experiences I am going to think of when I am sitting in a nursing home which I am never going to get old enough to get to.
4-Wheeler Ride
These are pics Scott and I took while going for a ride up California Creek. To all you in the lower 48. There is no better 4-wheeling than here. Take a look at the one by the water, we had to slowly clear the muskox (they look like a small bison. In one of the pics you can see Cal. Creek. We followed it for a few miles (crossing from bank to bank, often through 3ft+ of water) till we hit the mountains. We wanted to go further, but didn't bring extra gas. Take a look at the tundra.
A few pics of Town
These are from the first few days I was in town. The school is the blue/greenish building. My apartment is the older looking building. There are mountains in the background, hidden by the clouds. It really is beautiful here. Compare these to more recent ones, the water is not always this calm, and the clouds are not always here(but it does rain like Seattle)
Unalukleet
Here are a few pics from my week of new teacher orientation at the District office in Unalakleet. The planes fly right over the town, within about 100ft. It is that way for most of the villages. Unalakleet has more plane traffic because it is somewhat of a hub, we don't get planes half that size in BM. I don't remember how late I had to stay up to take the picture of the setting sun, but I do believe I can now say I have seen the midnight sun.
Flat Top
Flat Top is one of the most climbed mountains in Alaska/Anchorage. It took the better part of the evening to conquer it. Not really getting dark till midnight really distorts time. The Pic that looks like it is of just the side of a mountain...there is an airplane flying below us. The planes weave through the mountains in route to the airport...really cool.

Anchorage
The large food piles are not mine, some of my coworker's...I had two shopping carts full of nonperishable item. The other pics are just around town. Were going to Tabletop hiking tonight. I am not going to have a cell phone starting Monday morning, I'm switching to SKYPE exclusively...so if you need something, email is the best way to reach me.

End of Summer/Kohler
These are pics from the end of summer. Most are in Kohler, Wi...home of the Kohler toilet. The wall of toilets is in their design studio. If your ever there it is pretty neat, go check it out. The top one is of the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison. The next one is some of the millions of sculptures in Kohler.
