Shaktoolik Cultural Inservice

This Picture is up for more of a joke. Point One to the good guys! Good luck getting the video up, hahahaha.

The students had a cake walk to support a trip to Hawaii.

The big plane is a charter for the teachers of two schools in our district. The little one that is landing behind it is our plane. I got to ride up front.

This is Shaktoolik from the air. Thanks Kira!

This is a performance from the King Island Dancers. This picture does not do the dancing justice. It is a really neat thing to watch.

I am trying Herring Eggs. Mmmmm

Scott's Video

Here is the video Scott took when we went hunting over Labor Day.

My Dog

I am getting an Alaskan Husky.  She is still too small (eyes are hardly open), but should be big enough in a few weeks. The pastor has a sled dog team and one of the dogs had pups.

SNOW

We got snow today. About 1/4 of an inch. I would have taken a picture, but it melted by the time school was out. The map is of where I am teaching. It is in a town called Brevig Mission. We are approx. 100 miles NW of Nome, Ak.

Last Week

Took a ride out to California Creek and got escorted down the beach by a herd of kids.  The first picture from the top is of a jelly fish. I had no idea they came this far North.

River Trip

We left Friday after school and were planning on hunting till Sunday nightish (Musk Ox, Moose, Caribou, ptarmigan, sand-hill crane, duck). After a longer than normal trip due to the fog (it took 6hrs instead of 3.5hrs, on a 4wheeler that's a lot, on a four wheeler on the tundra, it is crazy) we made it to the river. It was too high to play with so we turned around Sat afternoon. We were never in any real danger, but were lucky to make it back (ask me for the story later). Scott took some good pics and has some great video of the fog, I'll post them later too.
