As coach of the Little Dribblers we play quite a few games against Teller because we can get there without flying...saving big $$$. We take snow machines and load the sleds up with kids. It takes about 20 minutes traverse the 7 miles of ice. The tides still affect the ice and it breaks up along the shore causing an interesting on ramp to the Forest Highway (called that because they put up willows so you can tell where you are going) The picture of the cargo plane is what the bulk of the supplies come in on. It comes three times a week, weather cooperating.
As a side note: Took Mooney out yesterday for a walk and it was 10 deg ABOVE '0'. I described it as being 'beautiful out'....it's all about perspective.
