To Teller, again

 

I took the snow machine and sled to Teller to pick someone up last weekend.  I took Mooney along and she ran about 75% of the 7.5 miles.  I was hoping it would tire her out but it seemed to have the opposite reaction.  The top picture is of the 'Forest Highway'.  The next few are of Teller.  Teller is connected to Nome via a seasonal road...so they have a little more access to supplies.

Koyuk, Ak

Tim and I went to a math conference in Koyuk, Ak this week.  It is the first time I have seen trees for over a month.  The picture of the airplane with out the nose wheel is pretty common.  Landing on dirt runways in cold temperatures with ice bumps rips planes apart.  This is the third one I have heard about this winter.  The airplane companies usually fly a mechanic out to repair the damage.

The Moon

Mooney and I took a walk the morning/night the moon was the largest.  Here is the picture.  Also a snow drift out of my kitchen window...just a small one.
