The Drive of a Dreamer

I begin declaring to my readers, everything I have done with my life, either good or bad, has earned me value or acquired me baggage. Despite a solid moral foundation, I have been a victim of my senses as long as I remember. I keep blind charm in going astray and chase inspiration thoughtlessly, thus I must consider myself a dreamer. This is my journey. The Last of Alaska

I decided to leave Alaska and return to Nebraska. I plan on returning in a few years (read: 30+). I can say that I learned a lot while I was up there but am looking forward to grocery stores and socializing again. These pictures were taken the beginning of May.

Elim, Ak

We went to Elim, Ak last weekend for a 3 day Elementary Basketball Tournament. Elim is west of Nome, Ak and is sheltered from the wind, hence the trees. We missed the iditarod by about 24 hours but got to see the Serum Run mushers. They run the original route that took the medicine to Nome, Ak. It is not a race but more of an enjoyment of the history.

Red Mountain

Mooney and I hiked up the mountain to the North East of town. This is the first time we have made it to the summit of this one. It is quite a bit steeper than the one to the west.

Teller

We went to Teller for the first time this year to play basketball. The ice has been hit or miss and I had been told (before this week) that it is safe "if you know where to go". Hence this being our first trip. Mooney ran the whole way there and back. As a conservative estimate we traveled at 20mph. Mooney also has a new favorite spot.
